TAP reading note: Allostatic (over)Load Measurement: Workflow and repository
A workflow and repository make the construction of a five-marker allostatic-load index inspectable across secondary datasets. The preprint describes the workflow; TAP separately tested sensitivity to reference populations and scoring rules in NHANES 2015–2016.

What the study found
A workflow and repository make the construction of a five-marker allostatic-load index inspectable across secondary datasets. The preprint describes the workflow; TAP separately tested sensitivity to reference populations and scoring rules in NHANES 2015–2016.
Scope & limitations
Secondary-data workflow covering All of Us, HRS and NHANES; these are separate source populations, not one pooled validation cohort.
Preprint, not a validated personal stress or resilience instrument. A computed index does not establish universal diagnostic thresholds, daily recovery sensitivity or predictive performance. The repository evolved after the 2025 preprint, so code and paper versions must be identified separately.
Population & sample
The source workflow covers three data resources. TAP’s accompanying methods case evaluates 3,152 complete-panel adults aged 40+ in NHANES 2015–2016; this is TAP’s sample, not the sample size of the source paper.
Exposure or intervention
Five markers: CRP, HbA1c, HDL cholesterol, heart rate or survey pulse, and waist-to-height ratio. Implementation includes data assembly, threshold selection and summing risk flags.
Outcomes
A calculated allostatic-load index. The workflow’s reproducibility is distinct from validation against disease, mortality or within-person recovery outcomes.
Time frame
Preprint version 1: 1 August 2025. Code inspected: commit 2bbb624dd01cec5c54b778d3cd2df4ada582c989 (2026 update). TAP’s own analysis uses one NHANES cycle, 2015–2016.
Research funding
Source-paper funding was not independently extracted for this reading note; consult the original preprint’s statement.
Research conflicts of interest
Source-author conflicts were not independently audited by TAP. Citation does not indicate endorsement of TAP or Resilio.
Reading scope
Preprint abstract and previously inspected workflow text; fixed repository source; source metadata reconfirmed through medRxiv on 20 September 2026 (no journal publication link returned). TAP independently reconstructed the NHANES cycle logic and executed native R checks; it did not run the complete source notebooks or reproduce All of Us/HRS. See the linked TAP methods case for new results.
