The Recovery Experience Questionnaire: development and validation of a measure for assessing recuperation and unwinding from work
Sabine Sonnentag · Charlotte Fritz
Journal of Occupational Health Psychology · 2007
What the research tells us
The Recovery Experience Questionnaire distinguishes psychological detachment, relaxation, mastery and control during non-work time. It measures experiences associated with unwinding rather than directly measuring restored physiological function.
What to keep in mind
Questionnaire dimensions are not four proven treatments. Self-reported experiences and actual changes in performance or physiology need separate measurement.
